TURLOCK, Calif. – San Francisco State's
Meagen Moiola captured the high jump title on Friday to highlight a brief slate of events for the Gator track and field team at the Cal State Stanislaus Twilight Qualifier in Turlock, Calif.
Moiola, who earned all-conference honors at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships on May 5, posted a winning height of 5 feet, 5 inches to edge Fresno Pacific's Ashley Tallon and Jacqueline Ford of Cal State Dominguez Hills, who both finished at 5-03.
In addition,
Keenya McDaniel equaled her school-record time of 11.84 seconds in the 100-meter dash to finish in second place behind Griffin Matthew (11.54), an unattached runner and Stanford alumna.
McDaniel, who automatic qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships in the triple jump earlier this season, along with
Tiana Wills in the high jump, will now await word of possible at-large berths to the national meet in the 100, 200, 4x100 and 4x400 relays when invitations are announced on Tuesday, May 15.
The Gators have provisionally qualified six other student-athletes in seven events, including
Brionne Baucham (4x100 relay, 4x400 relay),
Kaylie Belk (800),
Maya Cabiness (400 hurdles),
Alicia Chambers (4x100 relay),
Luisa Musika (shot put, discus, hammer throw) and
