SAN FRANCISCO –  Balanced scoring keys SF State Gators' 96-81 win over the visiting and previously undefeated Cal State Stanislaus this evening at the Swamp.  Four Gators scored in double digits led by Katie Batlin and Angela Van Sickel with 27 and 24 points respectively.  The Gators improve to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the CCAA while the Warriors fall to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the CCAA.

"Great game tonight as our girls competed extremely well against a quality team such as Cal State Stanislaus," said SF State head coach Dr. Joaquin Wallace.  "Our core senior leadership is stepping up big time and our bench is providing quality minutes."

Besides Batlin and Van Sickel's combined 51 points, Lauren Varney recorded a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds.  Varney also had six assists and two blocked shots while Kimmie Fong had a season high 10 points and four assists off the bench for SF State.  Batlin had 10 rebounds to go along with her game high 27 points.

SF State jumped out to a 19-6 lead in the first five minutes of the game and never looked back.

Cal State Stanislaus cut the Gator lead to 31-28 on a three by Briana Cotton with 7:50 left in the half.  SF State came right back and increased its lead to 40-30 on a three by Fung.

The Gators finished the half outscoring their guests 15-8 to take a 55-38 lead into the locker room at the half.

SF State increased its lead to 72-52 in the first nine minutes of the second half on a Batlin jumper as the Gators cruised to a 96-81 conference home win.

Lauren Godde led the Warriors with 19 points and was one of three Warriors to score in double figuures.

SF State forced 19 turnovers and held its opponent to 40% from the field including 21% from three's.

The Gators will return to the court this Thursday, December 12 at 5pm, when they host William Jessup University in a non-conference game.  SF State will return to conference play the next evening at 5:30pm, when the Gators host Sonoma State.

"We're excited on our current position yet we understand we have more games against quality CCAA Teams," added Wallace.  "This is a marathon and not a sprint."
