ARCATA, Calif — The visiting SF State Gators finished this evening's with a 12-2 run to key their 83-72 conference win over Humboldt State at Lumberjack Arena in Arcata, Calif.
Nefi Perdomo, who finished with a career high 33 points, hit a three to start the run while the Gators went 8-for-8 from the charity stripe in the final 30 seconds to secure their conference road win.
"This was a bonafide team effort in this evening's win," said SF State head coach
Paul Trevor. "We battled on the glass and with Nefi's (Perdomo) leadership leading us to a total team win."
This was the Gators' first win over Humboldt State in Arcata, since a 66-59 win during the 1993-94 season. Humboldt State had defeated the Gators eight straight times at Lumberjack Arena.
Perdomo finished with a career high 33 points while tying a career mark with four steals. The senior guard was 9-for-12 from the field including connecting on five of his eight tries from beyond the arc. He also was 10-for-12 from the charity stripe while dishing out three of the Gators' 11 assists.

Bren Haley had a season high 10 points, going 6-for-9 from the charity stripe, while dishing out 6 assists and recording three steals.
With the win, the Gators improve to 7-4 overall and 5-3 in the CCAA and are tied for fifth place with Cal State Stanislaus.
David Howard paced the Lumberjacks (6-8, 1-7 CCAA) with a game high 35 points and Parker Farris added 14 points while Chris Pender chipped in 10 points.
SF State held its hosts to just 36% shooting from the field including 36% from three-point land and forced 16 turnovers. The Lumberjacks were 31-for-35 from the line.
The Gators out-rebounded their opponents 31-26 with Overton's 7 leading the way.
Perdomo's three gave the Gators an early 15-6 lead in the first six minutes of the game. Humboldt State went on a 9-0 run to tie the game at 15-15 on a three by Howard.
Bennie Rhodes' dunk capped a 17-4 run by the guests as they increased their lead to 32-19. Another trey by Perdomo gave the Gators a 35-22 lead with 3:14 left in the half.
Humboldt State finished the half outscoring its guests 9-2 to cut the deficit to 37-31 heading into half-time.
The hosts continued to battle as they took their first lead of the game, 46-45, on a three by Howard at the 13:17 mark of the second half. The Lumberjacks increased their lead to 53-49 on another Howard trey with 10:15 to go in regulation.
Overton's trey off an assist from Haley capped a 7-2 run by the Gators as they retook the lead, 56-55 with a little under eighth minutes on the clock.
A trey by Colin Caslick gave Humboldt State, its last lead of the game, 58-56 on its next possession.
Perdomo's lay-up on the Gators' next trip down the floor tied the game at 58-58 and then Overton hit two free throws to give SF State a 60-58 lead with 6:49 left.
Allan Guei was fouled on the next Humboldt State possession and converted both free throws to tie the game at 60-60.
SF State then score the game's next four points to take a 64-60 lead with 4:44 on the clock.
Humboldt State cut the Gator lead to 71-70 on two free throws by Gueir with a little over two minutes left on the clock, but Perdomo's trey started a game ending 12-2 run by the guests as they held on for the 83-72 road conference win.
The Gators will return home for the first time this year this Friday, January 18 at 7:30pm PST, when they host #14 Cal State San Bernardino at The Swamp in a conference showdown. The Coyotes are currently 11-1 overall and in first place in the league with their 8-0 record.
