CHICO—  Courtney Hamilton's lay-up with one minute to go in regulation proved to be the game-winner in the Chico State Wildcats' 67-66 win over the visiting SF State Gators in a CCAA contest at Chico State's Acker Gymnasium.  The Gators had three shots at the end to win the game, but all three fell short.  Katie Batlin recorded her 8th double-double and second consecutive with 25 points and 10 rebounds.  She also had three assists and four blocked shots.

"In defeat, I am proud of how the team battled this evening," said SF State head coach Dr. Joaquin Wallace.  "We competed at a high level and I am hopeful, we can play with the same passion at home against two really hot teams in CSUDH and Cal State L.A."  "We are still in the chase for the tournament as there is a ton of basketball remaining."

Besides Batlin's double-double, the Gators received 10-point performances from Lauren Varney and Michelle Sutton.  Jennnifer Le also scored 7 points and had a career high 6 of the Gators' 13 steals.

The Wildcats outscored the Gators 19-8 in the next 11 minutes to take a 67-66 lead on a Courtney Hamilton lay-up.

SF State had three chances in the final minute to win the game, but the Gators could not get over the hump as the Wildcats held on for the 67-66 victory.
