Box Score SAN FRANCISCO ---    The SF State men's basketball team received a total team performance in a one sided, 79-48 win over Humboldt State on Friday night at The Swamp.  The Gators' (12-8/10-7 CCAA) bench scored 50 points to help SF State defeat the Lumberjacks (9-14/4-13 CCAA). 
 
"We had a run to start to the game this evening as we able to use our pressure defense to create some turnovers," said SF State head coach Paul Trevor.  "Our bench scored 50 points this evening and it was nice tonight to put in guys without any drop-off and seeing everyone supporting each other."
 
Derrick Brown and Bennie Rhodes each had 14 points off the bench for the Gators, who held their guest to just 25% from the field including 19% from three-point land.  Brandon Tatum added 10 points for the hosts, who out-rebounded the Lumberjacks 41-29.
 
Once again, the Gators were almost perfect from the line, going 23-for-25 including Rhodes going 7-for-7.
 
Chris Pender had 11 points to lead the way for Humboldt State.
 
SF State scored the first five points of the game and then increased its lead to 20-7 on a three by Derrick Brown at the 13:00 mark of the first half.
 
The Gators continued to increase their lead as they took a 38-12 on another three by Brown with 5:16 left in the half.
 
Humboldt State cut the Gator lead to 42-22 as the Lumberjacks ended the half on a 10-4 run heading into the locker room.
 
SF State continued its offensive onslaught as the Gators increased their lead to 51-25 in the first four  minutes of the second half as the hosts cruised to a 79-48 victory.
 
With the win, the Gators stay in a tie for fourth place with Cal State Stanislaus and are two games out of third place with five games left in the regular season.
 
SF State will host No. 25 Cal Poly Pomona tomorrow evening at The Swamp with a scheduled tip-off of 7:30pm.  The Broncos defeated Sonoma State 58-47 in Rohnert Park this evening.
