SAN FRANCISCO – The visiting Chico State Wildcats held off a late second half rally by the SF State Gators for 65-57 CCAA victory. SF State was led by
Andre Jones 16 points and
Bren Haley's 15 points. Jordan Semple had 25 points and 12 rebounds to lead the way for the victors. Prior to tip-off, the Gators recognized their three seniors in Haley,

The first half was nip and tuck until the Wildcats (19-6, 16-4 CCAA) took a 34-25 lead on a three by Mike Rosaroso with 2:30 left in the first twenty minutes. SF State ended the half on an 8-0 capped by a Haley three as the Gators cut the deficit to 34-33 heading into the locker room.
A Jones three gave the Gators a 36-34 lead early in the second half. The Wildcats took a 41-39 lead on a lay-up by Semple.
The Gators (10-14, 8-12 CCAA) retook the lead at the 9:12 mark, 47-46 on a jumper by
Derrick Brown.
Two made free throws by Tanner Giddings gave the visitors back the lead (48-47) with 7:31 left in regulation.
A dunk by Brown tied the game at 51 with 6:34 on the clock, but a dunk on the Wildcats' next possession by Giddings gave Chico State a 53-51 lead, a lead they would not relinquish.
Two free throws by Jordan Barton increased the Wildcat lead to 55-51, but a three by
Udun Osakue cut the deficit to 55-54 with just 2:39 to go in the game.
The Wildcats came right back down the court and hit connected on a old-fashioned three-point by Semple to take a 58-54 lead. SF State still would not go away as Jones hit a three on the Gators' next possession, but the Wildcats scored the game's final 7 points including going four-for-four from the line to take the 65-57 victory.
The Gators forced 15 turnovers by Chico State, including six on steals (two by Haley) and were 12-for-28 from three-point land.
SF State will end its 2014-15 regular season on the road this coming weekend in Los Angeles. The Gators will face Cal State L.A. on Friday, February 27 and then Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday, February 28. Tip-off for both nights is set for 7:30 pm.
