SAN FRANCISCO--- The San Francisco State Gators are looking to secure a spot in the six-team CCAA Soccer Championships, which begin on Tuesday, November 1 with two First Round games at sites to be announced. The Gators are in the sixth spot heading into the final week of the regular season. They begin their week with a non-conference match in Santa Cruz at 3:15pm against UC Santa Cruz.
San Francisco State is one point ahead of Chico State and two points ahead of Cal State Dominguez Hills and Stanislaus State. If the Gators win both of their final two home conference matches this Thursday and Saturday, October 27 and 29 against Cal State East Bay and Stanislaus State they clinch their spot in the CCAA Soccer Championships. The First Round will begin on November 1 at the site of the third and fourth seeds. The semi-final and final match are set for November 4 and 6 in Turlock, Calif., on the campus of Stanislaus State.
The Gators have a chance to move as high as the fourth spot if they win both of their matches and Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State L.A. lose both of their matches. The top six spots are held by UC San Diego (27 points), Sonoma State (25 points), Cal State San Bernardino (22 points), Cal Poly Pomona (19 points), Cal State L..A. (15 points) and San Francisco State (14 points). Cal State San Marcos is not eligible for the CCAA Soccer Championships this season. Chico State finished its regular season this past weekend while Cal State Dominguez Hills (12 points) and Stanislaus State (12 points) each have two matches left this week.
GATORS: Coming into their match on Monday at UC Santa Cruz, the Gators are 7-5-3 overall and 4-4-2 under the direction of second-year head coach
Tracy Hamm. They currently are in seventh place in the CCAA, but with Cal State San Marcos not eligible this season for CCAA post-season the Gators are in sixth place.
FIGHTING FOR A SPOT IN THE CCAA SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIPS: San Francisco State is still alive for the six-team CCAA Soccer Championships, which run from Nov. 1, 4-6. The Gators hold the sixth spot with their 14 points heading into their final two conference matches this Thursday and Saturday at home. UC San Diego, Sonoma State, Cal State San Bernardino and Cal Poly Pomona have already secured their berths with Cal State L.A.
San Francisco State, Cal State Dominguez Hills and Stanislaus State will have chances for the last two spots. Cal State San Marcos is not eligible this season and Chico State has 13 points and ended its regular season this past weekend.
FIRST TIME SINCE 2010-11: The Gators have secured back to back non-losing seasons for the first time since 2010-11 when they went 11-5-5 and 8-8-2. They have also have secured their first back to back winning seasons since 2002-2003 when they went 12-5-4 and 12-8 respectively while if they win all three matches it'll be the most wins (10) since 2010 (11-5-5).

HOLGUIN IN GOAL: Christina Holguin has posted a 0.51 goals against average with 7 shutouts, 48 saves and 7 wins in goal for the Gators this season.
GAME-WINNERS: Four Gators have recorded game-winning goals this season with
Natasha Gosiaco leading the way with three.
Sierra Sagasta is next at two followed by
Kelsey Wetzstein and
Jada Williams each with one.
CCAA LEADERS: Four Gators are amongst the CCAA statistical leaders in

Sierra Sagasta and
Christina Holguin. Gosiaco is tied for third with her three game-winning goals while Holguin is second in goals against average and tied for second in shutouts. Fox is tied for 5
th in assists and Sagasta is tied for 7
th in game-winning goals.
FIRST UP ARE THE BANANA SLUGS: UC Santa Cruz is 4-8-1 after losing 1-0 at Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday afternoon in Seaside. Megan Carey leads the way with her six goals and two game-winning goals for the Banana Slugs. Athena Del Rosario has posted a 1.83 goals against average with 61 saves and one shutout in goal for the Banana Slugs. Match time for this Monday, October 24 is 3:15pm in Santa Cruz.
NEXT ARE THE PIONEERS: Cal State East Bay enters its match this Thursday, October 27 at 12;30pm at San Francisco State with a 3-10-3 overall record and a 2-8 CCAA record. The Pioneers are in 11
th place in the CCAA. Megan Ravenscroft leads the team with her 5 goals and 10 points. Jasmine Corbett has posted a 1.61 goals against average with 51 saves and two shutouts in goal for the Pioneers.
SENIOR DAY AGAINST THE WARRIORS: The Gators will the Stanislaus State Warriors this Saturday, October 29 at 11:30am in their Senior Match. The Warriors enter this week with a 10-6 record and a 4-6 record in the CCAA which places them tied for 9
th place with Cal State Dominguez Hills. Stanislaus State will first face Cal State Monterey Bay this Thursday in Seaside before facing the Gators on Saturday. They are still alive for the six-team CCAA Soccer Championships. Jada Poon leads the team with her 7 goals and 18 points while Gabby Squarcia has a team leading 7 assists. Haley Crook has posted a 1.00 goals against average with 55 saves and 5 shutouts in goal.
