Box Score SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – A big second half by host Dominican proved to be the difference as the San Francisco State women's basketball team fell 77-56 Saturday evening at The Igloo. The Gators had two players in double figures but it wouldn't be enough.
For the fourth time this season, the Gators went into the intermission with a lead, up 30-25. SF State was playing stellar defensively in the opening half, holding Dominican (2-1) to 35.5 percent shooting.

Jasmine Black who was 3-for-3 from beyond the arc to go into the locker room with 12 points. The Gators shot 39.1 percent in the first half, going 9-for-23 from the floor. From 3-point range they were better, going 4-for-8 from long range.
In the second half, the Penguins went off. A big run late in the third quarter quickly erased a Gators 10-point lead midway through the period. A big fourth quarter put the game away, as Dominican outscored SF State 52-26 after the break.

GAME NOTES
Coaches Quote
"We played a solid first half," said head coach
Dennis Cox. "We did everything we needed to do against a good Dominican team. But they went on a run in the middle of the third quarter and we just couldn't find an answer. Then it got away from us. We have the ingredients to achieve much better results than we are right now. We just have to find a way to sustain an effort and stay together for four quarters."
Rebound Battle
For the first time this season, the Gators owned the rebound advantage. SF State entered this weekend -11.0 in the rebound margin. But thanks to 14 boards from
Donae Moguel and a season-high eight rebounds from
Kaitlin DaDalt, SF State outrebounded Dominican 48-39.
Costly Turnovers
Turnovers played a huge role in the Penguins second half surge. The Gators finished the night with 31 turnovers. Those 31 turnovers led to 27 points for Dominican.
