@SFState_WVB Returns Home Versus So-Cal Schools

SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco State women's volleyball team returns to the friendly confines of the Main Gym at the Don Nasser Family Plaza this weekend for a pair of home contests against Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State L.A. on Friday and Saturday
 
The Gators enter this weekend with an overall record of 1-10, they are 0-3 in the CCAA.  As a team, SF State is hitting .146 as a team, averaging 9.86 kills per set.  Their opponents are hitting .292 and averaging 14.49 kills per set.
 
Last weekend, the Gators went 0-2 falling to rivals Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal State East Bay in straight-sets.  Sophomore outside hitter Haley Halpert led the Gators over the weekend, tallying 20 kills.

About The Toros:
The Toros enter Friday's match with a 4-8 overall record, in the CCAA they are 1-3.  Last weekend they fell to No. 13 Cal State San Bernardino in four sets before rebounding to defeat Cal Poly Pomona in straight sets on Saturday.
 
Who To Watch:
Freshman outside hitter Tati Yandall leads the team with 128 kills.  The freshman from Long Beach, Calif., is averaging 3.12 kills per set.  Junior outside hitter Claire Autry is second on the team in kills with 108, she averages 2.57 kills per set. 
 
Series Versus The Toros:
All-time the Gators are 23-14 against Cal State Dominguez Hills.  The series dates back to the 1985 season when the Toros defeated the Gators 3-1.  SF State is currently riding a 15 match winning streak that dates back to the 2008 season.  Last year the Gators defeated the Toros in straight-sets at the Main Gym on Oct. 3.
 
About The Golden Eagles:
Cal State L.A. enters this weekend with an overall record of 7-5 and are 3-1 in the CCAA.  They are currently riding a three match win streak that dates back to Sept. 16.  Last weekend they defeated Cal Poly Pomona in straight-sets and wrapped up the weekend defeating No. 13 Cal State San Bernardino in four.
 
Who To Watch:
Junior middle blocker Alma Serna, a transfer from Long Beach State, was named the CCAA and AVCA Player of the Week last week.  For the year, she has 126 kills, averaging 3.07 kills per set.  She also has 47 total blocks, averaging 1.16 blocks per set.
 
Series Versus The Golden Eagles:
All-time the Gators are 13-25 against Cal State L.A.  The series dates back to the 1987 season when the Gators opened up the year with a five-set win over CSULA.  SF State is currently riding a two-match winning streak that dates back to the 2014 season.  Last year, the Gators went 1-0 at against Call State L.A. with a four-set win over the Golden Eagles at the Main Gym.
