LAIE, HI – For the second night in a row the San Francisco State women's volleyball fell in straight-sets to their host from the Aloha State, tonight falling 3-0 to BYU-Hawaii (16-25, 10-25, 22-25) at the Cannon Activities Center. This evening however, the Gators overcame a slow start and gave the host team a battle in the third and final set.
San Francisco State (0-2) was plagued by attack errors in the first two sets, hitting into 15. They finished the evening hitting .064 with six players recording at least one kill. Junior outside hitter
Christine Johnson led the Gators with 11 kills on the evening, she also hit .273 to lead SF State.
BYU-Hawaii (2-3) hit .234 as a team and had two players in double digits in kills led by Lacy Lange who had a match-high 13 kills on the evening.

Linda Aerne led the Gators with 13 assists, a service ace and nine digs.
Emily Johns led the Gators with 14 digs, she also had four assists on the evening.
In the opening set the Gators combined to hit .132, tallying 11 kills on 38 swings with six errors. The Seasiders responding hitting .277 on the set, recording 16 kills on 47 swings with just three errors.
In the second set BYU-Hawaii jumped out to a 14-0 lead before the Gators could get on the board. Attack errors were the issue for SF State in the second set, as they hit nine in the frame and could only record three kills.
In the third and final set, SF State played their best frame of the young season. The Gators attack was much sharper, hitting 12 kills on the set with just four errors for a team-high .186 attach percentage. With SF State trailing 20-16, the Gator defense led by newcomers

Lauren Williams threw up a wall to combine four four-straight blocks.
Unfortunately, with the Seasiders holding a 24-23 advantage, they were able to take the set and the match on an SF State attack error.
The Gators will return to action tomorrow when they take on Chaminade at 11:30 a.m. HST time, they will wrap up the Hawaii Invitational when they take on Montana State-Billings at 4:00 p.m. HST.
