LOS ANGELES--  Behind a total team effort it was the No. 21 San Francisco State Gators improving to 12-1 overall and 5-1 in the CCAA with an 89-70 conference road victory over the Cal State L.A. SFSU had five players in double digits in scoring led by Coley Apsay's game high 19 points.  Derrick Brown chipped in 17 for the victors while Ryne Williams added a career high 15 points off the bench.  Warren Jackson and Jash Kahlon also added 11 points each off the bench for the Gators.  Kahlon's 11 points were also a career high for the Gator junior post player.

Brown and Apsay combined to score the Gators' first 13 points of the game as the visitors took a 13-3 lead in the first three minutes of the game and never looked back.  A jumper by Apsay at the end of the first stanza gave SFSU its largest lead of the half (52-26) heading into the locker room.

A jumper by Nick Calcaterra increased the Gators' lead 28 (54-26) early in the second half.  Cal State L.A. (6-9, 2-5 CCAA) would not go away as the Golden Eagles cut SFSU's lead three times to 15 including 76-61 with 4:40 left in regulation.  The Gators ended the half outscoring their hosts 13-9 to take the 89-70 road CCAA win.
