SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco State men's basketball team overcame a 13-point deficit and won 77-72 in overtime over Stanislaus State on Spirit Night III.
SF State (17-3/11-3 CCAA) jumped out to a 7-0 lead but Stan State (6-15/3-11 CCAA) tied the game by the 12-minute mark on Kaelen Mitchell's three-pointer. The game was tied 10 times total, though Stan State closed out the first half on an 8-0 run and took a 34-26 lead into halftime.
Early in the second half, Mitchell hit back-to-back three pointers to give the Warriors the largest lead of the game, 45-32. Over the next five minutes, SF State trimmed the lead to three.
Israel Hakim's layup cut the lead to one, then the senior guard headed to the free throw line on the next trip down to give SF State its first lead of the second half. Stan State countered with a six-point run but the Gators answered and the two teams headed to overtime tied 63-63.

AJ Kahlon laid it up to give SF State a five-point lead. The Warriors used a five-point run to tie the game with under a minute to go but
Jash Kahlon hit another three to make it 73-70.
Warren Jackson iced the game with a pair of free throws.
The Gators shot just 29 percent in the first half but shot 54.5 percent in the second half and made half of their shots in overtime.
Nick Calcaterra led SF State with 17 points and went a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line. Jackson continued his steady play with 16 points, five assists, and a pair of steals.
Jash Kahlon came off the bench and was 4-of-5 with 13 points.
Israel Hakim rounded out Gators in double digits with 11 points.
Coley Apsay had a team-high 10 rebounds.
Jaelen Ragsdale led Stan State with a game-high 20 points. Mitchell added 17 points off the bench and had five three-pointers.
