ARCATA, California - The San Francisco State softball team erupted for 21 runs on Friday as they swept host Humboldt State in three games. The Gators took game one 2-1, game two was a 13-2 five-inning victory, and game three was a 6-3 comeback win.
The Gators (6-5/3-5 CCAA) have now won three straight over Humboldt State (3-7/1-6 CCAA) for the first time in the last 20 seasons and taken five of the last six contests. Brylynn Vallejos and Nina Revoir both continued their streak of reaching base in every game to start the season after base hits in every contest on Friday.
GAME ONE
- Katelyn Sturm pinch hit in the sixth and made it count with her first collegiate home run, giving her two hits as a pinch hitter in two-straight at bats. Tianna Jacques also recorded her first collegiate home run as she tied things up with a solo shot, her fourth extra base hit this season.
- Six starters recorded a hit in the contest.
- The victory is the first on the road over the Lumberjacks since 2014 (four contests) and second straight dating back to last season.

- The Lumberjacks got on the board in the second after Rylie Carlier's leadoff home run.
- In the sixth, Jacques knocked a two-out home run to right-center to tie things up and pinch hitter Sturm followed with a solo shot of her own to straight away center for the 2-1 lead.

- Emily Mitchell got her fifth start of the season, tossing all seven for her first complete game as a Gator. She struck out five while allowing just one earned. SF State tagged Humboldt State starter Lexee Sheiring for seven hits, the second most she's conceded this season.
GAME TWO

- Andrea Hildan tied a career high with three runs scored and two batted in as she went 2-for-3 for her fourth multi-hit game this season.
- It is the first run rule victory over Humboldt State since 2000 (75 contests). The 13 runs scored against Humboldt are the most since 2012 when they took down the 'Jacks 14-12, and the most overall since 2014.
- Vallejos, Michelle Castro and Revoir each added three hits, and Castro batted in a career-high three runs.
- Jacques and Hayley Nunes each added a pair of hits and scored a run
- The 18 hits are the most since March 26, 2016 when they also had 18 against Cal State San Marcos.
- Vallejos led off game two with a single to left and went to second on Hildan's hit-by-pitch. The duo both advanced on a wild pitch and scored on Castro's single up the middle. Revoir followed with a base hit down the left field line to make it a 3-0 lead. The rally continued as following a Jacques single, Revoir scored on a wild pitch and Sydney Jenkins plated Jacques on a base hit to center field to put the Gators up 5-0 and force a Humboldt State pitching change. Nunes then tapped a single up the middle to score Jenkins and cap off the seven-run frame.Â
- The Lumberjacks got one back in the bottom half on Danica Grier's double to left that scored Hanna Holland, who reached on a bunt single to lead off the frame.
- In the second, Haley scored on a throwing error to make it 7-2.
- In the fourth, Hildan led off with a bunt single and went to second an error, Castro was hit by a pitch and the two advanced on a groundout. Hildan came around on a wild pitch, moving Castro to third, and she quickly scored on a sacrifice fly by Jacques to widen the lead to 9-2.
- Hildan continued her strong day with a two-run single to plate Vallejos and Nunes to put SF State up nine, and Castro followed with a double to score Hildan. Jacques made it 13-2 with a RBI single to right to add an insurance run en route to the run rule victory.Â

- Natalie Minteer got the start and threw three innings with one earned and one strikeout. Karla Soto pitched two in relief and didn't allow a baserunner while striking out two.

GAME THREE

- Vallejos knocked in a season-high three runs and also had two hits and a pair of runs.
- Revoir walked twice and added a base hit.
- The victory is the third straight for SF State, their second three-game win streak of the season.
- Vallejos led off game three with a solo home run, her second of the year.
- Humboldt State tied it up in the second with a sacrifice fly to center by Maddie Allen that scored Mariah Kalamaras.
- The hosts then went up 3-1 in the third on Haley's two-run triple to left.
- In the fifth, Samantha Alvarez led off with a base hit and pinch hitter Lehua DeLeon walked. Nunes advanced both runners on a sacrifice and Vallejos tied things up with a two-run single to make it 3-3. Hildan's single up the middle that scored Vallejos gave the Gators a 4-3 lead.
- Nunes' two-out chopper down the third base line scored Jenkins in the sixth. Nunes then scored as Vallejos reached on a fielding error by the first baseman to go up 6-3.

- Soto started the contest, her first start of the year, and went 2.2 with one strikeout and two earned before returning to throw 1.3. Mitchell pitched three shutout innings with two strikeouts.Â
SF State continues the road trip as they travel to Cal State San Bernardino next Friday for a doubleheader which starts at noon. Live stats will be provided.
