SAN FRANCISCO - A pair of solid performances in the circle and timely hitting lifted the San Francisco State softball team to a pair of wins on Saturday and the swept Cal State Dominguez Hills in a doubleheader. Game one was a 1-0 win while game two was a 12-2 five-inning victory.
- Sydney Jenkins gunned down two would-be base stealers in game one bringing her season total to a CCAA-leading 13, with the first coming in the first after a leadoff walk that set the precedent for the rest of the day as the Toros (15-12/13-11 CCAA) didn't attempt a steal in game two. She also picked off a runner taking a generous lead from second in the second to keep SF State (15-10/13-10 CCAA) get out of a two-on, no-out jam.
- Hayley Nunes made a fantastic diving catch near the left field line for the second out in the seventh and help the Gators preserve the shutout in game one.
- Katelyn Sturm went 2-for-3 in game one and had the lone RBI and followed with a 1-for-3 performance with two runs scored in game two. Nina Revoir hit in three runs in game two.
- Four runs scored with two outs in the third inning of game two to help SF State get the run-rule win.
- Michelle Castro had a career-high five RBI in game two as she added three hits, her seven multi-hit game of the year.
- Brylynn Vallejos went 2-for-2 with three runs scored for her team-leading 12th multi-hit game this season.Â
- SF State was a perfect 6-for-6 in stolen base attempts on the day.
- The Gators have now scored over ten runs in five contests this season. It is the eighth time they have recorded double-digit hits.
GAME ONE
- In the sixth, Revoir doubled to right-center and was replaced by pinch runner Latrice Thompson. Next batter Sturm hit a grounder that bounced off the diving second baseman's glove and went to shallow center, allowing Thompson to score from second for the 1-0 lead.Â

- Emily Mitchell retired the Toros in order in the fourth and sixth en route to her fifth complete game win of the season. She allowed just four hits, which ties a season best for fewest hits allowed in a complete game.Â
GAME TWO
- The Toros got on the board on Chenoa Au's RBI single to left-center that plated Jazmin Guzman for the 1-0 lead in the first.Â
- SF State answered right back as Vallejos led off with a single up the middle, stole second, went to third on a groundout, and scored on Castro's double down the right field line. Castro came around to make it 2-1 as Revoir singled to right-center. Sturm reached on a fielder's choice that forced Revoir out at second, and Sturm then stole second and third to set herself up to score on Nunes' sharp single down the left field line for the 3-1 advantage.
- In the second, Samantha Alvarez singled to right-center and was sacrificed to second on a bunt by Jenkins. Vallejos blooped a single to left that moved Alvarez to third. Andrea Hildan's single loaded the bases, and Castro made it a 5-1 lead as she singled to center, scoring Alvarez and Vallejos. Revoir grounded out to short that easily scored Hildan from third, but Castro turned on the burners from second and got around the catcher's tag attempt to make it 7-1.
- A sacrifice fly by Chloe Wenger in the third put another on the board for the Toros. The frame was highlighted by Vallejos' diving catch to rob Dominguez Hills of a hit.
- In the bottom half, Jenkins blooped a single over the first baseman's head to score Nunes, who had stolen third a pitch earlier to put the hosts back up by six. Jenkins stole second and Vallejos reached on a walk, bringing up HIldan who beat out a grounder to second which allowed Jenkins to score from second and Vallejos to reach third. Castro then got her third hit of the contest on a two-run single to center, putting the Gators up 11-2 and continuing the two-out rally.Â
- Lehua DeLeon sacrificed Sturm home in the fourth , who reached on a leadoff single to left-center, making it a 12-2 lead.

- Karla Soto improved to 6-1 on the year as she held the Toros to two earned over five innings.Â
