SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco State softball team build on their momentum heading in to next week's CCAA Tournament by wrapping up the regular season with two more wins on Saturday, giving them eight consecutive victories.
Game one was a quick 4-0 shutout while game two resulted in a 7-3 victory. Before game one the Gators honored Jenee Wilson, Hayley Nunes, Celeste Adriano and Karla Soto, who played in their final regular season home game.
- The Gators (37-16/26-13 CCAA) have won 17 of their last 18 contests and improved their home record to 19-5.
- The 37 victories are the fourth-most in a season and the 26 conference wins are not only the most for the Gators in CCAA action, but the most conference victories in a season in program history.Â
- The win streak is SF State's third streak of five or more straight this season.
- Tianna Jacques went 2-for-3 in the opener with a pair of RBI for her fourth multi-hit game and seventh multi-RBI contest of the season. Lehua DeLeon scored two runs in the victory.
- In game two, Jacques notched two more RBI and added another multi-hit game. Michelle Castro and Sydney Jenkins each had two hits.
- Samantha Alvarez clubbed her first collegiate home run in game two, which gave the Gators the lead en route to the win.
- After breaking the program's single-season hits record a day ago, Brylynn Vallejos now has 90 hits, which is tied for the fourth-most in CCAA history. The freshman is currently ranked second for RBI in a season with 39 and runs with 51.
- The 490 hits this season are the second most in Gator history. SF State has tied the record for stolen bases in a season at 125, which was set last year.
- Vallejos and Castro each have 16 doubles this season and are one away from tying the program record, which is held by Castro, for doubles in a season.
GAME ONE
- In the fourth, Castro led off with a walk and Revoir laid down the sac bunt, but the Pioneers attempted to throw out Castro at second however her speed was too much which allowed her to reach. Sturm advanced the pair with a sac bunt to give SF State two runners in scoring position. DeLeon hit a grounder to third and East Bay was able to get Castro out at the plate for the second out. With pinch runner Latrice Thompson at third, DeLeon stole second and Jacques hit a sharp single to center to score the pair and put SF State on the board.
- Two more came across in the sixth, which started with DeLeon doubling to right. Jacques followed with a base hit to right that moved DeLeon to third, and smart base running by Jacques put her at second as she advanced on the throw. Pinch hitter Celeste Adriano plated DeLeon for the first run, and Sydney Jenkins doubled home Jacques for the 4-0 lead.
- Soto got the start, going the distance with a pair of strikeouts, including the last batter of the game for her 11th complete game of the season.
GAME TWO
- The Pioneers went up 1-0 in the second after Belle Placencia singled home Bailee Aguigui.
- The hosts answered with a five-run frame, which started with Sturm's leadoff double. DeLeon sacrificed her over to third, and with two down Alvarez hit her first collegiate home run over the left field fence for the 2-1 lead. Jenkins walked and stole second, and scored on Vallejos' double to left-center. Nunes moved Vallejos to third with a base hit up the middle, and Vallejos scored as Nunes stole second and baited the throw down to allow the run to come across. Nunes made it 5-1 after scoring on a Castro base hit and throwing error.
- In the third, DeLeon walked and scored on Jacques' double to left center, widening the lead to 6-1.
- The Gators added an insurance run in the fourth, with Castro leading off with a walk. With two down pinch hitter Katie Rohrer walked, and Jacques singled home Castro with a single to center.
- East Bay scored in the sixth and seventh on RBI by Placencia and Meghan Araneta to cut it to four.

- Sam Drucker did work against the Pioneers and only needed 90 pitches for the complete game and her first victory of the season.
