SAN FRANCISCO – San Francisco State volleyball remains undefeated at home with a sweep over Cal State Monterey Bay at Main Gym. The Gators earned set wins of 25-23, 25-19 and 26-24 to win the match and earn their tenth home win of the season.
- The Gators improve to 14-3 and 7-3 in the CCAA while the Otters fall to 7-7 and 1-5 in the CCAA
- Trinity Barr landed 11 kills with an attack percentage of .733. The percentage is good for seventh all-time in a match. Barr also ranks second in the same stat with an .800 hitting percentage against Holy Names on September 11.
- Izzy Issak and Jessica Haynie each had 14 kills in the match
- Brianna DeBoer had 19 digs in the match
Down 23-19, the Gators recorded six unanswered points to pick up the first set win. Trinity Yates, Issak and Haynie each had kills during that run while Yates and Payton Jensen teamed up for a block to end the set.
The Gators took control of the set when they used a 6-0 scoring run to take a 15-9 lead. Issak had a hand in three of the six points. The Otters would not get within four the rest of the set. Defensively, the Gators held the Otters to a .086 hitting percentage and chipped in four blocks
SF State led by as much as seven throughout good parts of the third set. The Otters came back to tie the set up a 23-23. Issak landed a kill to break the tie, but a service error on the ensuing play continued the set. Barr landed a kill and Issak hit a service ace to end the match and close the book on an Otter comeback.
"Great to get back in it with two wins," said Head Coach Matt Hoffman. "Looking forward to keeping it going next week at home."
