SAN FRANCISCO – San Francisco State volleyball took down Stanislaus State 3-1 to keep the home winning streak alive. After the Gators easily won set one 25-13, they dropped set two 25-21. SF State bounced back and took sets three and four 25-20 and 25-19.
- The Gators improve to 15-3 and 8-3 in the CCAA while the Warriors fall to 10-9 and 6-5 in the CCAA
- Trinity Barr, Issy Izzak and Drew Morris all finished with double-digit kills and recorded 13, 12 and 11 kills respectively.
- Kimberly DeBoer had 36 assists to go along with two aces.
- Bekah Roth had eight blocks and five service aces. Both stats rank in the top ten in a single match.
After starting set one closely, Roth, Izzak and Morris landed kills to pace the Gators on a 4-0 scoring run and give them a 16-10 lead. The Warriors would only tally three more points before the end of the set. The Gators had a blazing .519 hitting percentage.
Tied at 13-13, Stanislaus state took advantage of a couple of Gator miscues to go up 18-13. SF State would come within one several times the rest of the set, but Stanislaus came up on top in the second set.
Stanislaus led by as much as six in the third set. Down 14-8, the Gators went on a 10-2 scoring run to reclaim control of the set. Seven of those points went for kills. Morris closed out the set for the Gators by landing and block and a kill on consecutive plays.
After a 7-1 start, the Warriors came back to tie up the set. The Gators landed three blocks in a row to go up 15-9. Coming out of a time out by the Warrior's Stanislaus landed a kill to cut into the Gator's lead at 17-13. Roth hit back-to-back service aces to highlight a 4-0 run and give the Gator's their biggest cushion of the evening.
