Jacob Niles of the San Francisco State men's cross country team was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Athlete of the Week for Sept 27 -Oct. 3 as announced by the conference Monday afternoon. He becomes the first Gator to win the award since John Lawson won the award in 2018 for the week of Oct 15-21.
Niles finished third with a time of 26:07.1 in the 8K race to lead the Gators to win the Pacific Collegiate Invitational. SF State finished tied for first in the standings with St. Mary's with 44 points. However, the Gators won the tiebreaker with better head-to-head results from the top five runners.
The Gators will travel to Bellingham, Washington to race in the WWU Classic on October 9.
