Izzy Issak of the San Francisco State volleyball team was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week as announced by the conference Tuesday morning. This is the first honor in her career and first honor for the Gators this season. The last time an SF State player earned the award was when
Payton Jensen earned it during the week of September 23-29 in 2019.
Issak made her first two career starts in matches against Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State LA last weekend and contributed 23 kills, 10 digs, three total blocks and two aces in two matches. She posted a career-high 13 kills against Cal State Dominguez Hills. The Gators beat Cal State LA for the first time since 2015 and are off to a program best 10-1 start to the season.
