SF State climbed its way back and a service ace from Velasquez gave the Gators the first lead of the set at 18-17. Dominguez Hills would tie the set again at 22-22, but a response from Josie Collier gave the Gators the lead for good in the set.
An early set two lead for the Gators quickly went away as the Toros equalized the set at 8-8. After trading leads for a couple of serves, the Gators used a 4-0 run bookend with kills from Velasquez and Wilson to take a 13-10 lead in the set. The Toros tied the set again at 21-21, but back-to-back kills gave the Gators to cushion to take the second set.
Seven straight points for the Gators put them up 21-13 in set three. Dominguez Hills had its worst hitting percentage of the evening in set three and clipped .000 percent.
