How It Happened

Trailing most of set one, the Gators took their first lead of the set at 19-18 with an attack error from the Warriors'. Stanislaus tied it up on the following rally but the Gators recorded five straight points to get to match point and win the set.

In a back and forth set two, the Gators never could pull away by more than three points. Tied at 20-20, a service error by the Gators gave the Warriors the serve and an attack error gave them the two-point advantage. Josie Collier would land a kill to bring the Gators within one but back-to-back kills from the Warriors swung the momentum back to them.

Velasquez had a hand in three of the five points during a 5-0 run that put the Gators up 14-10. Stanislaus would come back to reclaim the lead a couple times during the set. Down 21-20, an attack error gave the Gators the serve and SF State rattled off four straight kills to take set three.

Facing set point down 24-21, the Gators landed three straight kills to tie the set. The Warriors would reach set point three more times before Collier and Velasquez landed kills to give the Gators a 30-28 set four win.
