How It Happened

The Gators attack was on point in set one as they scored 11 of their first 12 points off kills and finished the set with a .405 attack percentage.

SF State found itself playing from behind the majority of the second set. The Otters took their largest lead of the set at 19-13, forcing the Gators to call a timeout. A couple of miscues from the Otters brought the Gators within one and back-to-back kills by Chloe Henning and Tamiya Wilson tied things up at 22-22. Wilson landed a kill to get the Gators to set point and another error from the Otters gave the Gators the second set victory.

The Gators continued to take advantage of errors in the third set as the Otters had nine attack errors and four setter errors. A Monterey Bay kill and a pair of errors from the Gators cut into the lead at 17-14, but a kill by Wilson stopped the run and the Gators kept their cushion the rest of the set.
