How It Happened

After going back and forth to open set one, the Golden Eagles took advantage of Gator errors to build a lead. A block from Kimberly DeBoer and Rebecca Rendahl brought the Gators within one at 12-11, but the Gators attack remained out of sync and gave up several more points due to errors in the set one loss.

Down 6-3 to start set two, the Gators called a timeout. Three different Gators landed kills to tie the set up coming out of the timeout. A solo block by Chloe Henning gave them the lead at 9-8, but the Golden Eagles went on a 7-0 run to swing the momentum in their favor and take the set.

Facing defeat, the Gators came out strong in set three and took a 13-5 lead before the Golden Eagles called their second timeout of the set. SF State only recorded three attack errors that set and hit at .305 percent.

Tied 8-8 in set four, the Golden Eagles went on a 9-2 run to take a commanding lead of the set. A service error would give the Gators the serve at 17-11, but SF State would only manage to land two more kills the rest of the set.
