How it Happened

Down 4-3, the Gators went on a 5-0 run highlighted by back-to-back kills from Aidan Goodrich to go up 8-4. Stanislaus would land the ensuing kill but the Warriors would never get within less than three of the lead the rest of the way. The Gators had a .424 hitting percentage during the first set.

Sitting at a 10-9 lead, a service error from the Warriors gave the Gators the serve back and sparked a 7-0 run for the Gators to go up 17-9. Kimberly DeBoer had a pair of aces during the stretch while Stanislaus had three attack errors to aid the Gators. SF State would lead by as much as nine in their set two victory.

The Warriors had their largest lead of the day with a 12-9 lead in set three but the Gators squashed that quickly with a 5-0 scoring run. The two teams sided out the next several serves. With a 19-18 lead, the Gators landed the next five points to hit match point. Stanislaus got two more points but Rebecca Rendahl landed the final kill to end the match.
