TURLOCK, Calif.— The San Francisco State volleyball team responded from a tough week and swept Stanislaus State on the road (25-19, 25-16, 25-20). The Gators shined defensively and finished with 63 digs and did not allow their opponents to land an ace.
- The Gators improve to 11-8 on the season. At 7-4 in the CCAA, the Gators now sit in fourth thanks to losses to East Bay and Sonoma. Stanislaus sits at 8-12 and 3-8 in the conference.
- Both Izzy Isaak and Tamiya Wilson finished with 10 kills.
- Four Gators finished with double-digit digs. Isaak led the way with 14, followed by Wilson (13), Asia Arbaugh (12) and Briana DeBoer.
- The Gators had six service errors, the second fewest recorded all season.
- Kimberly DeBoer finished with 38 assists and a pair of service aces.
Down 4-3, the Gators went on a 5-0 run highlighted by back-to-back kills from Aidan Goodrich to go up 8-4. Stanislaus would land the ensuing kill but the Warriors would never get within less than three of the lead the rest of the way. The Gators had a .424 hitting percentage during the first set.
Sitting at a 10-9 lead, a service error from the Warriors gave the Gators the serve back and sparked a 7-0 run for the Gators to go up 17-9. Kimberly DeBoer had a pair of aces during the stretch while Stanislaus had three attack errors to aid the Gators. SF State would lead by as much as nine in their set two victory.
The Warriors had their largest lead of the day with a 12-9 lead in set three but the Gators squashed that quickly with a 5-0 scoring run. The two teams sided out the next several serves. With a 19-18 lead, the Gators landed the next five points to hit match point. Stanislaus got two more points but Rebecca Rendahl landed the final kill to end the match.
