SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco State volleyball team took down Cal State Dominguez Hills Saturday afternoon at Main Gym in three sets (25-16, 25-19, 25-10). The Gators would not let the Toros generate any positive momentum offensively and held them to a .012 hitting percentage.
- The Gators improve to 14-8 on the season and 10-4 in the CCAA. With the win, the Gators are guaranteed a winning record in conference. The Toros fall to 10-11 and 5-9 in the CCAA.
- SF State limited the Toros to 17 kills, the fewest a team has hit against them all season.
- Izzy Issak led the team with 11 kills. Tamiya Wilson and Trinity Yates each had 10.
- Kimberly DeBoer had 36 assists and 11 digs on the afternoon.
- The Gators hit seven aces including two from Brianna DeBoer, Cynthia Beall and Wilson.
After starting things off close in set one, the Gators used a couple of scoring runs to put some separation between them and the Toros. Wilson served two aces and Aidan Goodrich landed two kills in a 6-0 run that put the Gators up 18-10.
Yates had three kills and Brianna DeBoer served a pair of aces in an 8-0 run that ballooned the Gator' lead to 16-5 in set two. The Toros made a late push and forced the Gators to sideout every time they got the serve back. The deficit seemed too much to come back from and Issak landed a kill for set point.
Set three was all Gators as SF State recorded seven unanswered points to end the set. The Gators limited their errors to four attack errors and a service error in the final set.
The Gators will take their final road trip of the regular season. They first take on Cal State Monterey Bay on Friday, November 3 at 5 p.m. The match will be broadcast on the CCAA Network with live stats available at sfstategators.com. Updates will also be available on X at @sfstate_vb.
