  • The Gators now sit at 15-8 and 11-4 in the conference. The Otters fall to 8-14 and 5-10 in the conference.
  • SF State returns to the CCAA Tournament after narrowly missing out a season ago. The Gators have made it four times the last five seasons played.

  • Gators matched a season-high 10 blocks as a team. Rebecca Rendahl led the way with five.

How it Happened

In a back-and-fort set one, Gators found some momentum and went on a 4-0 run to lead 16-14 before the Otters call a timeout. The Otters equalized coming out of the timeout and the teams continued to go back and forth in set one. Wilson landed a kill to get the Gators to set point at 24-23 but the Otters landed a kill to extend the first set. The Otters looked to take the set with a 27-26, but a kill from Aidan Goodrich gave the Gators the serve and back-to-back attack errors sealed the set for the Gators.

Coming out of the first Otter time-out of set two, the Gators went on a 5-1 run to lead 16-10 and force another Otter timeout. The Otters only added four more points the rest of the way as the Gators forced the Otters to side out every time they got the serve back. SF State's offense hit .407 percent in the set and only recorded three attack errors.

The Gators offense stayed potent in set three as they landed 17 kills in the set. Wilson, who had been giving the Otters trouble all evening, had four straight kills during a 6-0 run that put the Gators up 16-7 in set three. Fittingly, Wilson landed the final kill of the set for her 20th of the evening.
