A pair of kills from Wilson and errors from the Orediggers gave the Gators their biggest lead of set one at 16-13. Colorado School of Mines would come back to reclaim the lead but the Gators responded and never let Mines get past a one-point advantage. Tied at 24-24, Wilson and Izzy Issak had back-to-back kills to give the Gators the set one victory.
The Gators had their most dominate set of the weekend thus far in set two. SF State started to put some distance on the Orediggers when Wilson landed three kills in a row as part of a 4-1 run coming out of a Mines time-out to put the Gators up 13-7. SF State held Mines to a -.037 hitting percentage while the Orediggers earned nine of their 14 points in the set off Gator errors.
After a triple block from Trinity Yates, Kimberly DeBoer and Alhana Velasquez put the Gators up 9-4 in set three, Mines called a timeout. The Orediggers came back within two only for three straight kills from the Gators made it a five-point advantage again at 14-9. Mines would come within one-point late in the set, but kills from Kimberly DeBoer and Wilson put the Gators up 20-17 and SF State would maintain an advantage of two or more points the rest of the final set.
The Gators started set one in a 4-0 hole and found themselves playing catch-up most of the way. A ball handling error by the Tigers tied things up and Kimberly DeBoer's ace gave the Gators their first lead at 18-17. Three Gator errors in a row handed the Tigers a two-point lead they were able to hang onto to end the set.
A service error by Fort Hays gave SF State a 12-11 lead and started an 10-1 scoring run to give the Gators command of the second set.
Errors helped the Gators pull away in the third set as the Tigers had four attack errors during a 5-0 run to go up 22-16. Goodrich played a huge role in the third set, recording seven kills and a pair of blocks.
The Gators opened set four with a 6-4 lead but a 9-2 run gave the Tigers a huge lead they would never relinquish. SF State had their worst hitting percentage of the day in set four, hitting .049.
Neither team could take more than a two-point lead in the final set. With the set tied 13 all, Goodrich landed a kill and an attack error from the Tigers gave the Gators match point.
