CHICO, Calif. - After taking the first two sets against Chico State with set scores of 25-19 and 25-13, the RV San Francisco State volleyball team fell in set 25-23. Down 21-13, the Gators stormed back in set four to take the set 25-22 and win the match.
- The Gators are on a 5-0 win streak and improve to 11-3 and 5-1 in the CCAA. The Wildcats drop to 6-7 and 3-3 in the CCAA
- Izzy Issak had a match-high 18 kills, followed by Tamiya Wilson with 13 and Aidan Goodrich had 12. Wilson and Issak had double-doubles, recording 16 and 12 digs respectively.
- Asia Arbaugh had a career-high 21 digs. She also added three aces to lead the conference with 30.
- The Gators had a 56-34 advantage on kills including holding the Wildcats to two in the second set.
- Kimberly DeBoer had 51 assists on the day to go with a pair of aces.
- Chico State's Kassandra Nall had a team-high 12.5 points.
A 6-2 run to start set one gave the Gators a cushion they would hold the rest of the set. Five SF State attack errors and three service errors gave Chico a window to come back but the Gators never trailed by less than two.
Izzy Issak led all players in the set with six kills.
Chico took their first time out down 11-6 with three of their six points coming from Gator service errors. A pair of attack errors helped the Gators use a 4-0 run to extend the lead and force another timeout. The Wildcats never got much going in the set as the Gators took the 2-0 lead.
The Gators faced their biggest deficit of the match down 11-6 in the third set. Down 24-20, Issak landed a pair of kills, and an attack error got them within one point. Chico would not let the Gators get to match point and landed a kill on the following rally.
Down 21-13 in set four, the Gators took advantage of four attack errors in a 8-0 run to tie the set up. Tied at 22 apiece, Gators called a time-out. Wilson hit back-to-back kills off the blockers hands and
Chloe Henning landed a kill for the final blow.
