How It Happened

The Coyotes intercepted a clear attempt in the eighth minute and Anthony Morales punched it past Mario De La Torre to the lower-right part of the goal for the lead. Morales recorded a brace four minutes later on another failed clear attempt by the Gators, putting the Coyotes up 2-0 early.

CSUSB made it 3-0 on Hunter George's goal in the 20th minute. SF State broke through in the 28th as Michael Rodriguez sent in a corner kick and Sevillano headed it in the upper-right of the goal to cut into the Coyote lead.

Sandoval broke through in the 78th with his fifth goal of the year, sending it past the diving 'keeper to make it a 3-2 contest. The Gators kept the foot on the gas offensively, creating opportunities looking for the equalizer. The Coyotes received a penalty kick in the closing minutes, and Brian Castillo, the CCAA's leading scorer, buried it for the 4-2 advantage. Castillo would add another in the 87th to seal the 5-2 win.
