SAN FRANCISCO — The No. 19 San Francisco State volleyball team fell to No. 3 Cal Poly Pomona (24-26, 25-17, 19-25, 17-25) in the final home match in the regular season. The match served as a potential preview of the CCAA Championships, with Cal Poly Pomona and San Francisco State seeded first and second respectively heading into the tournament.

- The Gators fall to 21-5 and 15-3 in the CCAA and drop their first home match of the season. With the win, the Broncos improve to 23-2, 17-1 in the CCAA and are the outright CCAA Champions of the regular season.
- Izzy Issak led the way with 21 kills, followed by Tamiya WIlson with 16.
- Brianna DeBoer had a match-high 16 digs, followed by Asia Arbaugh with 15.
- Kimberly DeBoer had 46 assists for the Gators.
- Sarah Ybarra had 18 kills to lead Cal Poly Pomona.
In a tight opening set, the Broncos would lead by as much as four but never pull away for long. Tied at 23-23, a kill by Alexia Athans put the Broncos at set point but the Gators got the serve back thanks to a service error. Pomona landed the next two kills to take the first set.
A 4-0 run that featured both a block and kill by Henning and Issak put the Gators up 13-8 and forced the Broncos to blow both timeouts. Pomona got back within two down 17-15 but the Gators outscored them 8-2 to close out the set, getting three kills from Issak and Wilson during the run.
Down 13-8, the Gators came out a time out and erased the deficit. Down 19-18, the Gators started to run out of steam and were outscored 6-1 by the Broncos to close out the set.
After leading to open set four, errors opened the door for the Broncos to take a lead. The Gators called a timeout down 17-15, but the Broncos landed back-to-back blocks on the ensuing rallies to take enough of a cushion to close out the match.
The Gators head to the CCAA Tournament with a bye as the number two seed. Their first match will take place on Friday, November 22 at 3 pm against the winner of the third seed and sixth seed. Fans can watch both games live on FloCollege with live stats available at sfstategators.com/livestats_vb.
