REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — The Gators had to wait a couple of days but the San Francisco State baseball team closed out their series with Montana State Billings, earning a 13-6 win to take the series. SF State played at Cañada College Tuesday morning due to excess rain from the weekend. Down 6-3 in the sixth, the Gators scored 10 unanswered runs.
- SF State improved to 2-1 while Billings falls to 1-2.
- Four Gators homered for the first time this season: Daniel Santos, Armando Murillo, Derek Laferriere and Andrew Silva.
- Santos was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle, going 3-for-5 with a pair of RBIs.
- SF State drew five walks while the Gator pitching staff did not give up a free base.

Santos sent a ball over right center to give the Gators a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. After
David Eichhorn gave up his first hit of the game in the top of the fourth, Billing's Zack Blaszak hit a double to deep center to plate the first runner for the Yellowjackets. With two outs, the Yellowjackets homered to right center to take a 3-1 lead. Murillo got a run back for the Gators with a homer over the center field wall. Santos hit his second mulit-hit of the game to get to second.
Justin Johnson singled to left field and Santos showed off some wheels to tie the game. With two outs in the sixth, Billings retook the lead with an RBI single and added a homer off Nehler's second homer of the game.
Laferriere hit the Gator's third homer of the game to cut the lead to 6-4. Peter French reached first on an error, made his way to third and scored on a groundout to second, also advancing Thompson. Thompson tied the game, scoring on a passed ball. The Gators used a two-out rally to take the lead for good in the seventh. With bases loaded,
Isaiah Cortez came in to pinch hit a drew a walk to advance everyone 90 feet.
Thompson was pegged in the next at bat to increase the lead to 8-6. The Gators plated five runs in the eighth, capped off by
Andrew Silva's two-run bomb to take a 13-6 lead.
- Eichhorn got the start and retired the first nine batters faced, striking five out in the process. He went five innings in the no decision, throwing seven strikeouts and giving up three runs.
- Theo Dopkins and Jacob French pitched in the sixth, giving up one and two runs respectively.
- Anthony Alvarez moved from Shortstop to pitch in the seventh, retiring all three batters faced while tossing a strikeout.
- Andrew Silva earned his first save of the season, throwing a career-high five strikeouts in the process.
The Gators have a busy weekend ahead hosting Western Oregon and Wesmont College. The two teams will open the weekend with a neutral site game at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 9. The Gators will take the field at 2 pm that day and face Westmont. Live stats will be available through
