SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco State volleyball team took down Stanislaus State 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 25-17, 26-16) at home on Thursday evening. The Gators served 18 aces in the match, second most in a single match.
- The Gators pick up an early key victory and improve to 6-8 and 5-2 in the CCAA. Stanislaus State, who sat one game out of first before the match, falls to 7-7 and 5-2.
- Grace Witcher led the Gators with six aces and currently leads the CCAA in aces per set with .76.
- Witcher also led the team in kills with 15. Aidan Goodrich and Tamiya Wilson each had 13.
- Melanie Hewlett dished out 42 assists.
- Both teams finished with six blocks
Up 11-7 in the first set, Wilson landed a kill and Witcher hit three straight aces to extend the lead further. Stanislaus would come back within two but could never overtake the Gator lead in the set. Goodrich closed out the set with back-to-back kills.

Alana Larson served an ace to tie the match at 22-22. Stanislaus called a timeout and scored the next two points to reach set point. Wilson landed a kill on the next rally but Stanslaus' Isabella Saucedo responded with a kill of her own to take set two.
The Gators went on an 11-1 run to lead 14-4 in set three and maintain control the rest of the way. Only four kills were recorded during the run.
Taylor Vales had three straight aces to highlight the run.
SF State went on a 7-1 run that put them up 15-10 and forced Stanislaus to burn both timeouts. Goodrich and Wilson contributed in three straight kills and Wilson served three straight aces. Fittingly, Vales ended the match with an ace.
