SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco State volleyball team opened up conference action at home with a dominant 3-0 win over Cal State San Marcos (25-13, 25-16, 25-17).
- The Gators improve to 2-6 on the season while San Marcos falls to 1-8.
- After breaking the career record last week, Tamiya Wilson had her best game of the season against the Cougars. She finished with 17 kills and had a .552 hitting percentage. She also added two aces and two block assists.
- Wilson moves into fourth all-time in career aces with 122.
- Grace Witcher made her first start at libero. She finished with 13 digs and served a career-high six aces.
- Melanie Hewlett had 31 assists to average a little over 10 assists a set.
- The Gators hitting percentage was .337 compared to the Cougars' .025
A service error by the Cougars tied the opening set up 4-4 and helped start a 7-0 run by the Gators. Witcher had three aces in the run while Wilson had a pair of kills. The Gators didn't record an error in the set and finished with an astonishing .650 hitting percentage.

Lindsey Olsen and Wilson each landed kills to start set two 7-2. The Gators would lead by as much as 11 as they cruised to a set two win. Wilson shined in set two with nine kills.
The Cougars had nine attack errors in set three that aided the Gators in the third set. Up 16-12, the Gators used a 7-0 run to run away with the set and take the match.
