CARSON, Calif. - The San Francisco State volleyball team bounced back on the road and took down Cal State Dominguez Hills 3-1 (25-22, 25-14, 17-25, 25-22).
- The Gators improve to 3-7 and 2-1 in the CCAA. Cal State Dominguez Hills falls to 3-6 and 0-3 in the CCAA
- Aidan Goodrich led the way for the Gators with 15 kills. Tamiya Wilson was right behind her with 14.
- Grace Witcher led the Gators with four service aces. She currently leads the conference with 28. Witcher also had a match-high 17 digs.
- Dominguez Hills finished with a .093 hitting percentage and 30 attack errors.
- Lilly Rix and Lindsey Olsen each had three blocks
Trailing through the first set, Wilson landed a kill to cut the deficit down to two and back-to-back errors from the Toros tied the set up at 15-15. Toros called a timeout and landed a kill coming out of it but Wilson had a kill and an ace in a 4-0 run to go up 19-16. Gators controlled the lead the rest of the way, taking the set off a Dominguez Hills attack error.
Gators got off to a better start in set two and led by as much as five mid-way through the set. Back-to-back aces from Witcher put them up 19-13 and forced Dominugez Hills to call their second time-out. The Toros only registered one more point the rest of the way as the Gators comfortably took set two.
Up 12-10, the Gator offense started to stall and the Toros capitalized with a 4-0 run to take the lead. The Toros went on a 6-0 run that extend the lead to 22-14 and never looked back.
Neither team led by more than three points in a back-and-forth set four up until the Gators reached match point up 24-20. A bad set by the Gators and Toros kill gave the Toros a chance to come back but Wilson landed a kill to end the match. Wilson and Goodrich each had five kills in the final set.
