Morgan Davison (Jr, D, Arlington, VA/Radford University) scored the game-winning goal in the Gators' 1-0 win over the visiting Cal State East Pioneers in the final seconds of the match off a corner kick from freshman midfielder
Sarah Ruebel (San Diego, CA/Patrick Henry HS). With the win, the Gators finished the season 9-9-2 after starting off the season 3-6-1.
“This is a good victory for us, because it is not only good for the seniors but also the returnees,” said SF State Head Coach
Jack Hyde. “It is the seniors' last, and we all get involved,” added Hyde. “That it's the seniors' game “but it's a game for all of us. We got the goal in the end to win and it gives us a good advancement this year on our standings.”
Emily Hart (Fr, GK, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA/Tesoro HS) recorded two saves en route to her sixth shutout of the season in goal for the Gators. SF State recorded shutouts in six of its last nine games of the season. Koree Palmer recorded four saves in goal for the Pioneers (11-6-1).
The Gators controlled this afternoon's game with 14 shots including five shots on goal compared to Cal State East Bay's two (both shots on goal). SF State also had 12 corner kicks compared to the Pioneers' zero.
