ARCATA, Calif. –
Robyn Hall blasted a match-high 16 kills to lift the San Francisco State women's volleyball team past Humboldt State in three sets (27-25 25-18, 25-11) on Saturday in the regular-season finale for both teams at Lumberjack Arena.
The Gators (15-12, 11-11 California Collegiate Athletic Association) also received 10 kills apiece by
Megan Johnson and
Halimah Oswald to help complete the season sweep of the Lumberjacks (8-18, 5-17 CCAA), who were paced by Oceana Matsubu's eight put-aways.
Besides her kill total, Johnson posted a team-best 16 digs for her eighth double-double of the year, while
Iris Tolenada doubled up on the stat sheet for the 14
th time this season after finishing with 36 assists and 10 digs.
As a team, SF State out-hit HSU .262-.081, recording a .406 attack percentage in the second set on 16 kills in 32 attempts with just three errors. In addition to Hall (.342) and Oswald (.304), the Gators received efficient production from

Kelly Ostello contributed six put-aways off the bench.
SF State also owned a statistical advantage in kills (50-29), digs (69-49) and blocks (7-6), with Oswald and Tolenada totaling three stuffs apiece.
The opening set was a see-saw affair as the two sides combined for 14 ties and eight lead changes, with Oswald and Johnson collecting six kills each for the Purple and Gold during the frame. Trailing 16-13, the Gators uncorked a 9-2 blitz to take a seemingly safe lead at 22-18. The Jacks promptly answered with a 7-2 spurt of their own as Allison Drobish contributed three consecutive blocks (two assisted) to put the host school up 25-24. SF State kept its composure, however, as Johnson notched two straight kills, while HSU committed an attack error on the final point, allowing the visitors to escape.
The Gators seized control of the second stanza, erasing an early 3-2 deficit with a timely 13-4 run, capped by two consecutive Johnson service aces, to go up 15-7. The Jacks closed to within five at 23-18 on a Drobish put-away and an SF State service error. SF State would not let a late lead slip away this time, however, as the double-O duo of Oswald and Ostello hammered back-to-back kills, respectively, for the clinching points.
The Gators limited HSU to just three kills during the third frame, building a commanding 21-8 advantage on the strength of seven Hall put-aways and another two by Williams. Shortly thereafter,
Lauren Walsh put the icing on the cake with a kill in her final attack for SF State to complete the sweep.
Saturday's win marked the final match for Gator seniors Hall, Oswald, Walsh,
Sarah Kurfess and
Reyna Rochin, who also emerged victorious in their home finale against Cal State Dominguez Hills at The Swamp on Nov. 5.
Oswald ended her illustrious four-year SF State career with 845 kills, which puts her at seventh in school history, while her 184 block assists and 219 total blocks rank seventh and eighth, respectively. In addition, Kurfess closed out her two-year Gator tenure with 944 career digs, good for fourth place on the school's all-time charts.
