STANFORD, Calif. – San Francisco State's 4x100 relay team of
Keenya McDaniel,
Alicia Chambers,
Brionne Baucham and
Carrie Thomas attained an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time on Saturday to lead the Gator track and field squad at the Stanford Invitational.
In just its second appearance of the 2012 campaign, the SF State quartet finished the event in sixth place with a time of 46.72 seconds, which ranks third on the school's all-time outdoor performance list.
In addition, Baucham (25.09) and Thomas (25.43) each recorded season-bests in the 200 meters.
The Gators also received a third-place effort in the high jump on Friday from
Tiana Wills, who cleared 5 feet, 5 ¼ inches in pit 2 competition, while
Luisa Musika improved upon her DII provisional qualifying mark in the shot put after taking fourth place with a season-long 44-05.50 during the collegiate 4 throws event.
SF State returns to action next weekend when it travels south for the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational, April 13-14, on the campus of UCLA.
