REDDING, Calif.— The SF State Gators' wrestling team improved to 1-1 in dual meets with a 42-6 road non-conference win over the Simpson University Redhawks this evening in Redding, Calif.   Four of the Gators' wins were by forfeits with the other four by fall, technical fall, major decision and decision.
 
The Gators started the evening with two wins by forfeit as Marc Collier and Isaiah Hurtado picked up the wins improving to 3-6 and 4-3 respectively on the season.  Then at 141, it was senior Naveed Bagheri improving to 7-3 with a 16-0 technical fall win over Anthony Vega.
 
SF State increased the score to 23-0 with a win by fall (2:59) by Conrad Snell at 149 over the Redhawks' Marco Frantantoni.  With the win, Snell improved to 6-3 on the season.  Then at 157, it was the Gators' Vicente Aboytes improving to 9-5 with a 19-5 major decision victory over Richie Ortiz. 
 
The Gators continued their domination over the Redhawks with a 7-4 victory by Isaiah Jimenez at 165 over Simpson's Brady Beaman. 
 
Simpson picked up its first points of the dual as Matthew Tsarnas won over the Gators' AJ Simon by a 7-3 decision at 174.
 
SF State won the next two matches at 184 and 197 to increase margin over the Redhawks to 36-3.  Winning by forfeits at 184 and 197 were Calvin Nicholls and Thomas Martin who improved to 7-9 and 6-7 respectively. 
 
Simpson won the final match of the dual to make the final 42-6.  Winning the final match for the Redhawks at heavyweight was Austin Lobsinger who was victorious by a 3-2 decision over the Gators' Richard Segovia.
 
The Gators will return to the mat this Sunday, January 6 in San Luis Obispo, Calif., as they will participate in the Mustang Duals on the campus of Cal Poly.  SF State will face the University of Wyoming at 11:30am, Columbia University at 3pm and Cal Poly at 5pm.
