Udun Osauke Had 11 points in the Gators' Exhibition Game at Washington State This Evening
Box Score KENNEWICK, Wash.--- Taking a break from their regular season schedule, it was the visiting SF State Gators falling to the Washington State Cougars (6-4) at the Toyota Center in Kennewick, Washington.  Udun Osakue paced the Gators with 11 points in their second and final exhibition game of the season. Last month, SF State lost 82-80 at St. John's (NY) in Queens, New York, in their first exhibition game of the season.

Besides Osakue's 11 points, the Gators received 10 points from Calvin Otiono who also dished out three assists and two steals for the visitors.

The Cougars, who are the winners of four of their last five games, were led by DeVonte Lacy's 22 points and Royce Woolridge's 10.

"We started off well and competed with them on the glass," said SF State head coach Paul Trevor.  "Washington State just wore on us and we weren't able to execute for 40 minutes with them."  "Now we have to get prepared for our game this Sunday afternoon at Sonoma State."

The Gators jumped out to a 7-4 lead in the first four minutes of the game.

Udun Osakue's jumper gave the visitors a 9-4 lead, but the Cougars went on a 8-2 run capped by an old-fashioned three-point play by Royce Woolridge to take a 12-11 lead.  A three by Nefi Perdomo gave the Gators a 16-15 lead at the 8:48 mark off an assist from Calvin Otiono which the Cougars retook the lead on a DJ Shelton lay-up, a lead they would not relinquish.

Washington State increased its lead to 36-23 on a DaVonte Lacy three with 1:58 left in the half.  A jumper by Otiono sent the Gators into the locker room with a 43-31 deficit.

The Cougars took a 47-31 lead on a dunk by Lacy in the first minutes of the second half.

Two made free throws by Will Overton, Jr. cut the hosts' lead to 47-33, but Washington State increased its lead to 61-40 in the next 10 minutes as the Cougars went on to the 80-50 non-conference win.

SF State will return to the court this Sunday, December 22 at 4pm, when the Gators travel to Rohnert Park, Calif., for a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) game with the Sonoma State Seawolves.  The Gators defeated Sonoma State 69-65 this past Friday in San Francisco as they improved to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the CCAA.
