REDDING – The SF State wrestling program absolutely dominated its dual meet against host Simpson University on Saturday, winning 40-3 in their final meet of 2014 at the Heritage Student Life Center.

"I thought we competed well," said head coach
Lars Jensen. "It was a good win going into our three week break from competition. Sam came out and got the pin and highlighted the dual. Ready to get some rest and come back harder for the second half of our season."

The meet started with the 174 weight class where
Peter Santos took a 9-2 win. From there it was all Gators all afternoon.Â
Johnny Costa followed that up with an 11-5 win in the 184 division,
Andrew Reggi continues to build on his promising start this season going earing a win by way of a tech fall, defeating his opponent 17-1.

Sam Alnassiri earned his first pin of the season, taking down his opponent in the first period. At that point the Gators were up 23-0 against the No. 15 ranked team in the NAIA.

Jordan Gurrola won 12-0, and
Dylan Furtado earned a win by way of a fall in the second period.Â
Daniel Flores lost his bout in 11-7.

Alex Abono and
Vicente Aboytes wrapped up the afternoon winning their bouts 7-3 and 21-7.Â

The Gators return to action on January 3 when SF State will participate in the Menlo Invitational at the Haynes-Prim Pavilion in Atherton, Calif.
