SAN FRANCISCO – SF State head men's basketball coach
Paul Trevor has announced the signing of Warren Jackson Jr., to a National Letter of Intent in the early signing period. Jackson is a 6'1 guard from Detroit, Michigan, who attended Cabrillo College after graduating from Henry Ford High School.
While at Henry Ford HS, Jackson averaged 19.2 points and 2.1 assists per game for the Trojans where he was coached by Kenneth Flowers.
After graduating high school, Jackson transferred to Cabrillo College in Aptos, Calif. During the 2013-14 season, Jackson averaged 18.0 points, 3.3 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game while leading the Seahawks to a 20-9 record including a 10-2 record in the Coast Conference South Division. The Communications major also shot 47% from the field and 69% from the charity stripe.
The future Gator was named the Most Valuable Player of the Coast Conference South Division. He also was named to the All-State First Team during the 2013-14 season. Jackson sat out the 2014-15 season due to a knee injury sustained during a workout last spring. He will have three years left to play.
"Warren is a tough, explosive guard who will bring some scoring punch to our back-court," said SF State head coach
Paul Trevor. "He has shown great character in how he has handled his medical setback and is already playing at 100%. He has gotten great coaching and mentorship from Coach Marcopulos at Cabrillo College, so I expect his transition to the CCAA will be a smooth one. If he continues to dedicate himself to working hard and getting better, he will have a great career as a Gator."
SF State finished the 2014-15 season with an 11-15 record including going 9-3 at home. The Gators had two All-Conference selections in
Udun Osakue and
Bren Haley.
