SAN FRANCISCO--- The San Francisco State Gators will return home this Friday, December 2 when they host Cal Poly Pomona. This will be Purple Out III as the first 500 SFSU students in attendance with a valid student ID will receive a free t-shirt. This game will also be broadcast live on Comcast Hometown Network Channel 104.
Friday's game will also be the Gators' California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) opener of the 2016-17 season. Besides hosting Cal Poly Pomona on Friday, San Francisco State will entertain this Saturday, December 3. Tip-off for Friday's game is set for 7:35pm and Saturday's game will be 7:30pm. The Gator women will host Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State East Bay this Friday and Saturday with their game times set for 5:35pm on Friday and 5:30pm on Saturday.
San Francisco State comes into this weekend with a 6-0 record, its first 6-0 start since the 2008-09 season when the Gators began 7-0. This past weekend, the Gators went 2-0 at the NDNU Thanksgiving Classic, defeating Holy Names 94-64 and Notre Dame de Namur 61-50. In Friday's win over Holy Names,

AJ Kahlon each led the way with 20 points each wile
Coley Apsay chipped in 15 points. Kahlon also grabbed a game high 16 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season. In their win on Saturday evening, Jackson had a team high 13 points to lead the Gators to their sixth consecutive win. San Francisco State recorded 18 steals with
Nick Calcaterra recording a career high six steals.
Cal Poly Pomona will first host UC San Diego in its CCAA opener on Tuesday evening at 7:30pm. The Broncos are 2-2 while 74.5 points per game and giving up 68.3 points per game. Jordan Ogundiron leads the way with his 15.0 scoring average and 47% shooting from the field. Then on Saturday evening, the Gators will entertain Cal State East Bay. The Pioneers are 6-1 heading into their CCAA opener at Cal State Monterey Bay on Friday. They are averaging 72 points per game while giving up 67.3 points per game. Micah Dunbar leads the way with his 16.4 scoring and 7.4 rebounding average.
GAME NOTES
GATORS: San Francisco State has started its season 6-0 for the first time since 2008-09 when the Gators started 7-0. They are averaging 85.8 points per game while giving up 67.5 points per game. SFSU is also out-rebounding its opponents 42.5 to 38.2. The Gators are shooting 49% from the field and 39% from three-point range while holding their opponents to just 34% shooting from the field including 27% from three-point range. Three players are averaging double digits led by
Warren Jackson's 18.5 points per game average. He also leads the team with his 61% shooting from three's and 25 assists.
Coley Apsay is next on the team with his 14.3 scoring average and has made a team high 14 three's and connected on a team best 90.9% of his free throw attempts.
AJ Kahlon is third on the team averaging 13.7 points per game Kahlon is also averaging a team leading 11.8 rpg while blocking 18 shots and shooting 67% from the field.

HOME COURT ADVANTAGE: The Gators are 49-24 at home during Coach Trevor's previous six years on the sidelines. San Francisco State has only one losing record at home (5-6 during 2011-12). The Gators went 10-2 during the 2012-13 season.
21-3: Since the beginning of the 2015-16 season, the Gators are 21-3 in games that they have scored at least 70 points including going a perfect 5-0 this season. Their 61-50 win at Notre Dame de Namur this past Saturday was their first win scoring under 70 points since a 59-47 win over Stanislaus State on Feb. 20, 2015.
RANKED NATIONALLY: As a team, the Gators are nationally ranked in top 10 in five statistical categories: 1st-defensive rebounds, 3rd FG% defense, 6th steals/ game, 7th total steals and 10th FT%.

Nick Calcaterra are in the top 20 in 7 categories. Kahlon is 3rd in total blocks, 5th double doubles and blocked shots/game, 9th in rebounds/game and 10th in total rebounds.
Coley Apsay is 1st in total steals and 2nd in steals/game while
Nick Calcaterra is 18th in steals/game.
20/20 VISION: AJ Kahlon scored 28 points and grabbed 23 rebounds in the Gators' 99-93 triple overtime win at Western Oregon on Nov. 18. This was Kahlon's second double-double of the season. The next evening, Kahlon scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the Gators' win over Concordia-Portland. Going in this weekend's game, Kahlon has recorded fve double-doubles averaging 13.7 ppg and 11.8 rpg.
UP NEXT FOR THE GATORS: San Francisco State has four games left in the 2016 calendar year beginning with three games next week. The Gators will travel to Golden Gate Park on Tues., Dec. 6 for an 8pm exhibition game with cross-town foe University of San Francisco at Kezar Stadium. SFSU will also travel to Kentfeld, Calif., for a CCAA game on Dec. 9 at 7:30pm for a CCAA game with Sonoma State. The Gators will then return home to The Swamp on Sat., Dec. 10 at 7pm for their final non-conference game of the season against Simpson University. Their final game of the 2016 calendar year will be a CCAA home game against Humboldt State at 4pm on Sunday, Dec. 18.
