@SFState_WVB Falls To Pioneers In Three

HAYWARD, Calif. – Attack errors proved costly, as the San Francisco State women's volleyball team fell to host Cal State East Bay 3-0 (14-25, 17-25, 14-25) on Saturday night at Pioneer Gymnasium.  The Gators had 20 errors on the evening.

SF State (1-10/0-3 CCAA) pounded out 24 kills on the night on 112 attempts with 20 errors for a .036 attack percentage.  The Pioneers (5-7/1-3 CCAA) countered, recording 38 kills on 108 attempts with 11 errors for a .250 attack percentage.

Haley Halpert led SF State with 10 kills on the evening, she was the only Gator in double figures. Christine Johnson was second on the team with six kills.  Linda Aerne had 24 assists with seven digs.  Libero Emily Johns was busy this evening, she tallied a career-high and match-high 20 digs.

The Pioneers were led by Kiki Leuteneker who had a match-high 13 kills. 

In the opening set the Gators offense was sluggish, hitting -.021, tallying eight kills on nine errors.  In the second set SF State could not keep up with the CSUEB attack that hit a match-high .333 on the set.  In the finale, the Pioneers jumped out to a commanding 15-4 lead and coasted to the finish.

SF State will return to action next Friday when they return to the friendly confines of the Main Gym at the Don Nasser Family Plaza when they host Cal State Dominguez Hills at 7:00 p.m.
