SB | Megan Clark Earns NFCA All-Region Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. –  San Francisco State softball senior utility player Megan Clark has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association 2017 NFCA Division II All-Region Second Team.  Clark is one of 210 student-athletes from 116 programs to earn all-region honors.
 
"We are extremely proud of Megan for all her hard work and dedication to her team," said head coach Lisa McKinney.  "She did a great job of playing both sides of the field this year for the Gators.  A well-deserved honor for Megan."

The native of San Miguel, Calif., who recently earned All-CCAA Second Team honors, had a big year at the plate and in the circle for the Gators in 2017.  The lefty tallied a career-best 182.1 innings pitched, going 12-18, she struck out 81 batters.  Her 22 complete games are tied for second in the conference, while her 182.1 innings pitched is third most in the CCAA.
 
At the plate, Clark had a break out season.  Starting 29 games at the designated player, Clark led the team with a .357 average.  Her 51 hits in 147 at bats both represent career-highs.  She clubbed five doubles and two triples this season, while scoring 17 runs and driving in 12.  On the base paths, Clark proved to be a stellar base runner, going 11-for-13 in stolen base attempts, the 11 stolen bases were second on the team.   

Clark finishes her career as one of the all-time greats at SF State.  She finishes with a 3.01 career-ERA, seventh all-time at SF State.  Her 38 career wins is fifth best in SF State history, while her 633.2 innings pitched is fourth most in school history.  Lastly, her 65 complete games are fourth all-time.
