SAN FRANCISCO - In rainy conditions, the San Francisco State men's track & field team hosted the Academy of Art on Friday in Cox Stadium.
Austin Magin started things off with a 5.34m in long jump. He returned in steeplechase and took second with a time of 11:20.59, following Jacob Garrissere who finished first with a time of 10:52.56. Alex Tait earned bronze with an 11.27.88.
In the 1500m, Michael Kilgariff placed first with a 4:16.57 and Kenith Gonzalez crossed next with a 4:26.34. Joey Manahan (4:34.91) and Jackson Redhair (4:52.39) earned fourth and fifth, respectively.
Austin Sanchez battled to the very end in the 3000m, finishing just two seconds off the leader as she notched a 9:01.59.
In the 100m, Jacob Mendoza notched a time of 12.99 for third, Peter Swinkels followed in 13.79, Elias Rosales in 13.98 and Kevin Henry in 15.06. Mendoza also led the Purple & Gold across the line in the 200m, running a 27.81.
Wrapping up the day was the 4x400, and the contingent of Garrissere, Atzin Cardiel, Kilgariff and Austin Magin ran a 3:50.01 to beat teammates Alex Tait, Isiah Tulio, Gonzalez and Joey Manahan, who clocked in at 3:54.39.
