PUEBLO, Colo. — The No. 12 San Francisco State wrestling team suffered another loss on Saturday, falling 38-10 at CSU-Pueblo.

After going undefeated in the month of December and starting January with a first-place finish at the Menlo Open, the Gators have gone just 1-5 in duals this month, dropping five straight contests. SF State stands at 7-7 and remain shorthanded since losing starters Nathan Cervantez (133 lb.) and Alex Felix (141 lb.) to injury in a January 10 home dual versus No. 11 Adams State.

The Gators were at a huge disadvantage without Mason Boutain, who is ranked No. 6 at 149 pounds, and Maxamillian Schneider, who is ranked No. 4 in the nation at 157 pounds. The Gators forfeited those two slots but did get six points back at 125 pounds thanks to a forfeit by the ThunderWolves. No. 11 D'Andre Brumfield scored a major decision for the ThunderWolves at 133 pounds and the Gators dropped the next six bouts until No. 3 Justin Pichedwatana scored his fourth major decision of the season in the 184-lb. bout. The Gators dropped the 197-lb. bout and No. 12 Gavin Nye closed out the match with a tech fall for the ThunderWolves.
