Gators Play To A Scoreless Tie with No. 4 Cal State LA

Wes Whitt and the Gators Recorded Their Fourth Shutout This Afternoon
 
San Francisco, Calif.--- SF State is now 5-1-1 in its last seven matches after the Gators played a scoreless tie with the No. 4 Cal State LA Golden Eagles (10-1-2, 7-1-2 CCAA). With the tie, the Gators are now 7-6-2 overall and 4-5-1 in the CCAA including being 4-2-2 at home.
            “To pick up 7 points in our last three matches is great,” said SF State Head Coach Joe Hunter. “I am also pleased to go 5-1-1 in our last seven matches and this gives us some momentum going into our last five matches of the season,” added Hunter. 
             Cal State LA out shot the Gators 23-10 including 7-2 in the first half, but SF State's Israel Cisneros (Watsonville, California, Hartnell College)recorded seven saves in goal including six in regulation. Both teams had their chances in the extra periods, but neither could put the ball in the goal. Spencer Schwandt (Napa, California, Viintage) had four shots while Dylan Glass (Rancho Cucamonga, California, Alta Loma) had two shots including a shot on goal for SF State while four different Golden Eagles recorded three shots including two by Mickey Daly that were on goal. 
            The Gators will return to action this Friday, October 17 for a 12:30pm match with the Cal State Stanislaus Warriors in Turlock. SF State defeated the Warriors 2-1 on September 28 in San Francisco.
