“Bottom line is that when you play the best, you have to play your best,” said SF State Head Coach Joe Hunter. “I thought the play of the game was in the 60th minute when we were still down just 2-1, but we received a red card and have a breakdown on the Toros' third goal of the game.”

That was Whitt's third assist of the season and 12th of his career to move into a tie for fourth place on the Gators' all-time career list in assists.
Two minutes later, Kyle Holland connected on a ball from Mario Guerrero to tie the game at 1-1 for the Toros. The game remained tied until the 33rd minute, when Kevin Gallaugher connected on his first of two goals in the game off a cross from Brian Alvarez to give CSU Dominguez Hills a 2-1 lead.
