Carson, Calif.--- CSU Dominguez Hills Toros (10-2, 4-1 CCAA) outscored the visiting SF State Gators 17-9 in the final three minutes to key their 88-82 victory at the Torodome in Carson, California. With the loss, the Gators fall to 8-4 overall and 2-3 in the CCAA.

The Gators jumped out to an early 7-0 lead in the first three minutes of the game. SF State increased its lead to 24-15 on back to back free throws by
Brad Visman (Placerville, California, UC Riverside) with 9:10 to go in the first stanza. The Toros came back through with a 12-0 run in the next two minutes to cut the Gator lead to 27-24, but SF State came back with a 7-0 run of its own capped by a three by
Will Logan (Apple Valley, California, Apple Valley) to take a 31-24 lead. The Gators increased their lead to 39-30 on a lay-up by
Phoenix O'Rourke (San Mateo, California, Junipero Serra), but the Toros finished the half on a 6-0 run to give the Gators a 39-36 lead into the locker room.
CSU Dominguez Hills started the second half on 9-2 to take as 45-41 lead in the first three minutes. SF State came back on an 8-0 run capped by a three by
O'Rourke to take a 49-45 lead, but the
Toros once again took the lead back outscoring their visitors 7-3 to take a 52-51 lead on a three by Shaun Engle with 12:44 to go in the game.
SF State came back and outscored the Toros 14-7 to take a 65-58 lead on a jumper by
Martin Flores (Woodland, California, Solano Junior College)with 7:25 to go in the game. CSU Dominguez Hills retook the lead in the next two minutes as the Toros outscored the Gators 11-3 to take a 69-68 lead with just 5:03 to go, but the Gators went on a 5-0 run with
O'Rourke hitting a three to give SF State a 73-69 lead with 3:46 to go, but CSU Dominguez Hills finished the game outscoring SF State 19-9 in the final minutes to take the 88-82 victory.
Robert Hayes (San Diego, California, St. Augustine's) finished the game with a career high 30 points, going 6 of 15 from the field and 15 of 16 from the charity stripe.
O'Rourke also finished with a career high 15 points, going 5 of 7 from the field including 3 of 5 from three's off the bench while
Darryl Robinson (San Mateo, California, Canada College) chipped in 12 and
Will Logan added 10 points for the Gators.
Jerrell Smith led the way for the Toros with 18 points and was one of five players to score double digits. The Toros out-rebounded the Gators 46-22, but SF State did force 17 turnovers by CSU Dominguez Hills while only turning the ball over 8 times themselves.
SF State will now travel to Los Angeles for a 7:30pm tip-off with Cal State LA tomorrow evening. The Golden Eagles defeated CSU Monterey Bay 80-70 this evening in Los Angeles.
