Toros Defense Stymies Gators

Dominique Hunter Paced the Gators with 10 points
 
Carson, Calif.--- The CSU Dominguez Hills Toros held the SF State Gators to just 29% shooting from the field while forced 26 turnovers to key their 68-45 win at the Torodome in Carson. The Gators fall to 7-5 overall and 1-4 in the CCAA while CSU Dominguez Hills improved to 7-5 overall and 2-3 in the CCAA. Neka Houston led the way with a game high 17 points while Barbara Houston added 12 and Auganee Baldwin added 10 points.
            “Forty minutes is where we are lacking at the present,” said SF State Head Coach Joaquin Wallace. “Our group has yet to bring the passion needed to play in the conference,” added Wallace. “I am hopeful that they will rebound and play well at Cal State LA.”
            The Toros jumped out to a 10-1 lead in the first eight minutes of the game and never looked back. SF State cut the lead to 10-7 in the three minutes, but CSU Dominguez Hills outscored the Gators 18-12 to take a 28-19 lead into the locker room. 
            CSU Dominguez Hills started the second half outscoring SF State 18-6 in the first nine minutes to take a 46-25 lead. The Toros increased their lead to 62-37 lead with 2:25 and hung for a 68-45 victory.
            Jessica Hout-Freeman (Fremont, California, Washington) and Dominique Hunter (San Francisco, California, Gateway) each led the Gators with 10 points apiece, who return to the court tomorrow evening at 5:30pm for a CCAA game in Los Angeles against Cal State LA who lost 61-59 to CSU Monterey Bay this evening at home
